MUSIC THERAPY DEFINITION
The American Music Therapy Association defines music therapy as “an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music Therapy improves the quality of life for persons who are well and meets the needs of children and adults with disabilities or illnesses.”

We have begun to plan the 3rd Annual Dance for Autism event. It will be held April 28th at 7:30 p.m. We will soon post information about how you can become a sponsor or donor. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer or dancing at the event please contact us at info@musictherapycenter.org. Proceeds from Dance for Autism help to provide music therapy services for families with autism.

Please consider clicking on our donate page so you can learn more about how easy it is to help support us in 2012 simply by turning in your old ink cartridges or cell phones and going to the grocery store!

We would like to take this time to wish the Houston community as well and all of our clients, donors, sponsors and volunteers a very safe and happy holiday season. The Music Therapy Center of Houston is finishing up our second year of business and we would not be able to provide the music therapy services throughout the Houston and surrounding areas without your generous support. Join The Music Therapy Center of Houston and Bounce U for the Bounce-a-thon fundraiser from 4-8 p.m. at 14900 Westheimer Rd
All ages welcome to come bounce and enjoy! Adult supervision required per each child/ $7.50 per child.
Also be sure to come and see children’s artists AndyRoo from 5:15-6:00 p.m. and Tom from Tom’s Fun Band at 6:00 p.m.
Our friends at Nature’s Market will be providing some healthy snacks during the event!

*** MTCH will not be billing insurance for summer groups. There are 2 summer group sessions offered with 4 wks in each session. Each session is $60 per participant. Payment for sessions is due before sessions begin. There will be no make-ups offered for summer group sessions.
