Welcome to the Music Therapy Center of Houston web site. Many changes will be coming so be sure to check this page often for news about everything MTCH. Also be sure to check the section to the right for updates and our calendar events. We are excited about reaching out and extending our experience to help bring Music Therapy to the greater Houston Metropolitan area.
MUSIC THERAPY DEFINITION
The American Music Therapy Association defines music therapy as “an established healthcare profession that uses music to address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social needs of individuals of all ages. Music Therapy improves the quality of life for persons who are well and meets the needs of children and adults with disabilities or illnesses.”
The Music Therapy Center of Houston is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that relies on the continuous support and generosity from the community in order to help maintain our mission and our vision for the future. See our donate page for how you can help support MTCH.

We are so excited to be selected as one of the four amazing charities by OKRA Charity Bar for the month of January. The charity, which we hope you vote for MTCH, that gets the most votes will get the proceeds for the month of February!
For us, 100% of these proceeds would go to scholarships and grants all around the Houston area, supporting and continuing to help create new music therapy programs for everyone! We have already given out our first grant of the year and look forward to giving out more with your help and support!
We will be out at OKRA, located at 924 Congress, Houston, TX 77002, every Thursday from 4-6:30 for their Happy Hour to answer any questions about Music Therapy and MTCH. We will also be out on a few weekends too so please watch our Facebook and Twitter pages for dates and times. We hope to see you out there soon and thank you for your continued support!
